Drawing up a social portrait of self-employed population in the southern regions of Kazakhstan

The purpose of the project: compiling a portrait of the self-employed living in the southern regions on the basis of clear characteristics (gender, age, income, activities, etc.)

Indicators for achieving the goal of the project: to develop a methodology for determining a portrait of the self-employed. Make a clear portrait of the self-employed living in the southern regions: Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda and South Kazakh regions. Develop a package of measures to transfer the self-employed into the category of productively employed.

Long-term result: increasing the efficiency of the labor market, involving low-income, unemployed and independent population in productive employment.

Development of tools and methods for determining the self-employed:

- Development of methodological recommendations for the preparation of a portrait of the self-employed;

- Discussion of the methodology;

- Updating the methodology based on the results of the study.

Compilation of a portrait of the self-employed:

- Conducting a survey of target groups and processing results;

- Discussion of the survey results with interested parties.

Development of recommendations and their presentation in government agencies:

- Preparation of a report on the results of the study;

- Discussion of the final report with experts;

- Providing recommendations to government agencies.
