A study of the current state of the labor market and employment in the Republic of Kazakhstan was carried out, the main trends in its development, challenges and problems that need to be addressed were identified. Taking into account the existing realities, the tasks of social modernization, world experience and recommendations of the International Labor Organization, conceptual approaches to the modernization of employment policy and legal mechanisms for the implementation of modern active employment policies were characterized.
