Studying the gender aspects of industrial injuries in the Republic of Kazakhstan

The purpose of this study is to establish gender aspects of production injuries in the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking into account the socio-economic importance of the problem of injuries and its role in ensuring the country's demographic security. This work presents recommendations containing ways to reduce occupational injuries among women at the enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as proposals for improving state monitoring in terms of accounting and registration of occupational injuries in the Republic of Kazakhstan.       

Completed tasks:

• Conducting a comprehensive analysis of industrial injuries among women in enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan in long-term dynamics for the maximum possible number of available statistical indicators based on the results of survey of materials for registration of industrial accidents for a five-year period;

• Benchmarking with other countries' occupational injury rates over a twenty-year period, occupational health and safety legislation review, and UK experience review;

• Development of recommendations containing ways to reduce industrial injuries among women at the enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as a result of the presentation and discussion of preliminary research results;

• Development of proposals for improving state monitoring in terms of accounting and registration of production injuries in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of discussion of preliminary research results provided in the presentation.
