The national cluster for the production and processing of oil and gas, petrochemicals, related engineering and services for the oil and gas industry was created in accordance with the State Program for Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2019. The Program provided for the provision of state support for development on the territory of Atyrau, Mangistau and West Kazakhstan regions of the National cluster for the extraction and processing of oil and gas, petrochemicals, related engineering and services for the oil and gas industry.
The main goal of creating the National Cluster was to form a dynamically developing region in the west of Kazakhstan, specializing in the extraction and processing of mineral raw materials (oil and gas) and using the advantages of the oil and gas sector to develop and diversify the industry and services of the region, increase competitiveness and strengthen the economic potential of the region.
