HOW ARE THINGS GOING ON WITH RUSSIAN OIL?

On December 3, 2022, the EU decided to set a ceiling on Russian crude oil prices at $60 per barrel to reduce the possibilities of financing military operations in Ukraine by cutting the income received by Russia from the export of petroleum products.

AERC began to monitor the dynamics of Russian oil prices monthly.

According to the analyzed data, the dynamics of Russian oil prices in August 2023 showed a serious excess of the sanctions’ price ceiling and were traded almost on a par with the Brent brand.
