AERC continues to monitor the dynamics of overall inflation in Kazakhstan. Today, the BNS ASPR RK has presented the first calculations of “alternative” inflation, calculated based on fiscal receipt data. So far, the BNS ASPR RK has provided price changes for only 20 categories of goods, including 13 food items and 7 non-food items, across three regions – the city of Astana, the city of Almaty, and the Karaganda region. Nevertheless, this also serves as an additional source for forming inflation estimates in the country. AERC, in its current review, has forecasted inflation until the end of this year.
