The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all areas of life. Social distancing, quarantine and self-isolation measures introduced to prevent the spread of the virus, in turn, have made significant changes to the level of employment, the demand for certain professions, as well as the organization of people's work. Due to changes in the structure of employment and the organization of work, the demand for certain skills has changed.
All these aspects led to the initiation of a study under the auspices of UNDP and JSC "Human Resources Development Center" (HRDC), conducted in 2022 jointly with us, AERC.
The study focused on identifying the most in-demand professional skills in the labor market after COVID-19 and developing recommendations for short-term training courses in in-demand professional skills for their further design through the Electronic Labor Exchange portal. The report "In-demand skills in Kazakhstan in the post-COVID-19 era: present and future" reflects the main findings of the study, which may be of interest to businesses, government, experts and society as a whole.
