What is the situation with Russian oil? (December 2023)

AERC continues to monitor the dynamics of prices for Russian oil according to JSC St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange. Since August of this year, AERC has noted, based on data on transactions at the Varandey terminal, that Russia is ensuring that the ceiling of $60 per barrel is overcome, and even sells its oil at a higher price than Brent oil. However, since November 17, the picture has changed slightly. In particular, this explains the general decline in prices on the world oil market. Among the reasons for such dynamics, Bloomberg recently noted the actions of STA bots.
