AERC continues to monitor prices for Russian oil according to the St. Petersburg Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange. In the current review, AERC talks about Russian oil prices for December and summarizes the results of the introduction of sanctions in the form of a ceiling on Russian oil prices from March 2023. By the way, the total revenues of the Russian federal budget maintained positive dynamics last year, despite the decline in oil and gas revenues. At the same time, the ceiling of 60 dollars per barrel was never complied with: in conditions of fairly high oil prices, supported by OPEC+ decisions, many importers still find it profitable to buy Russian oil at a discount to Brent, even at a price above $60 per barrel.
